Central Asian Ministers of Transport Sign a Joint Communiqué on Сooperation

DUSHANBE, 13.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Central Asian countries intend to create the necessary conditions for the development of transport and logistics services, warehouses, and production facilities in the countries of the region in order to strengthen trade ties between the states of the region and other countries. This was stated today during the first meeting of the Central Asian ministers of transport, which took place in Dushanbe within the framework of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim. It was attended by the Ministers of Transport of Kazakhstan — Marat Karabaev, Uzbekistan — Ilham Makhkamov and Director of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakyev.
The ministers expressed their proposals to strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of land transport in Central Asia.
Following the meeting, a Joint Communiqué on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics was signed.
The meeting participants also got acquainted with the Akia Avesto motor transport enterprise in Dushanbe and the construction of the Dushanbe — Bokhtar highway.
