Informal Meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers Takes Place in New York

DUSHANBE, 23.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 21, on the margins of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the Annual Coordination Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In his speech, Minister emphasized the importance of stable peace and prosperity in the OIC region and expressed concern about the current security situation in various regions of the Organization, including the growing threats of terrorism and extremism, escalation of contradictions and armed conflicts.
Minister also stated that Tajikistan in accordance with its international obligations is taking necessary measures to combat the threats of terrorism, extremism, xenophobia thus providing the international community with a platform for political dialogue called «Dushanbe Counter-Terrorism Process».
