President of Tajikistan Proposes to Create a Central Asian Media Association

DUSHANBE, 14.09.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon proposed to create a Central Asian Media Association.
While delivering speech at the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, he noted that in recent years, Media interest in Central Asia has increased sharply. The media space is filled with a variety of, sometimes contradictory and distorted information about the state of affairs in the region.
“It is necessary to take measures to create an information atmosphere of genuine friendship and cooperation in the region, based on real facts and not speculation,” added Emomali Rahmon.
For these purposes, the President of Tajikistan proposed to create a Central Asian Media Association.
The Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia is attended by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the honored guest — the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
