DUSHANBE, 25.10.2023 (NIAT Khovar) –  On October 25, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, arrived in the city of Vahdat in order to get acquainted with the development and construction works, the expansion of autumn planting and the opening of a number of different social and economic facilities.

In the center of the city, the Honorable Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon first put into operation a new additional building of the State Educational Institution «Medical College of the city of Vahdat».

The new educational building of the Medical College of Vahdat city was built in honor of the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan with a modern design and consists of a basement and 4 floors.

Getting acquainted with the conditions created in the beautiful and modern educational building, President Emomali Rahmon highly commended the quality of the work and guided the officials responsible for the preparation of specialists with secondary professional education in the field of medicine.

It is worth noting that the additional educational building of Vahdat Medical College has 25 classrooms, including 7 spacious lecture halls and 10 office rooms for teachers and staff, equipped with tables and chairs, educational displays and modern equipment, such as electronic boards and video projectors. It is intended for the education of 1300 students in two shifts.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that there are 7 faculties and 12 departments in Vahdat Medical College.

Specialists of secondary medical education are trained in 7 specialties, including nursing, pharmaceutical work, dental work, medical-diagnostic work, medical-rehabilitation work, midwifery work and medical-prophylactic work.

Currently, 2 thousand 424 students are studying in Vahdat Medical College, 2 thousand 110 of them are girls and 314 are boys. This college has 210 teachers, including 2 doctors of medical and biological sciences, 9 candidates of science, 3 PhDs and 33 young qualified teachers.

In order to gear the educational process to modern standards, modern centers and laboratories have been established in Vahdat Medical College, including the Center for the Study of Practical Skills, educational laboratories and pharmaceutical diagnostics, morphological subjects, departments of chemistry, biology, physics, and the Educational-Clinical Center.

In the basement of the new additional building of the educational institution, there is a canteen with 60 seats, a spacious library with more than 25 thousand copies of educational, specialized, artistic, political and historical literature, which every day students use this treasure of knowledge and wisdom effectively. The library hall has 60 seats. Also, 10,000 copies of the necessary literature are stored in the library in electronic form, and computers are connected to the Internet.

A meeting hall with 160 seats has been built on the third floor of the new building, and scientific, public, cultural and political gatherings and events will be held in this spacious hall. The meeting hall is equipped with modern devices and equipment.

During a sincere conversation with teachers and students, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon assessed the training of highly qualified specialists who are patriotic and self-aware as one of the primary duties of the teaching staff.
