Dushanbe Will Host IBA Champions’ Night Today

DUSHANBE, 16.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, a professional boxing tournament entitled IBA Champions’ Night will take place at the Dushanbe Tennis Palace and Water Sports Complex.
The main fight between Russian representative Sharofutdin Ataev and Alfonso Dominguez from Azerbaijan will take place for the IBA belt in the -86 kg weight category. The winner will receive $350,000 and the loser — $150,000.
Other fights of the night will take place between Tajik boxer Shavkatjon Rahimov and Mexican Eduardo Nunez for the title of champion according to the IBF in weight 58.9 kg, as well as between Tajik boxer Bahodur Usmonov and Lal Chu Ying from Taiwan in weight 63.5 kg for winning the Asian champion title.
On February 15, the weigh-in ceremony and meeting of boxers took place in Dushanbe, which was also attended by boxer Roy Jones.
