Number of Artisans Is Steadily Growing in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 19.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2023, a total of 13,644 people in 48 professions and specialties completed short-term courses on craft training in 45 modern national craft centers at educational institutions subordinate to the of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population. It was said by the Minister Gulnora Khasanzoda on February 13 during a press conference.
There are 8,041 artisans working in Tajikistan, which is an increase of 1,814 people, or 29.1%, compared to 2022. All artisans work in 12 branches of production of various products, including 3,216 of them are engaged in the production of handicrafts.
“The analysis shows that in terms of the number of artisans, the largest share falls on Khatlon (41.4%) and Sughd regions (32.9%). The volume of industrial production of artisans in 2022 averaged 65.4 million somoni, and in 2023 — 79.6 million somoni,” noted Hasanzoda.
