Tajikistan’s Foreign Trade Turnover in 2023 Increases to $8.3 Billion

DUSHANBE, 13.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover in 2023 increased to more than $8,3 billion, which is considered the highest figure in the history of independence. This was announced today during a press conference of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
This figure increased by 13.9%, or more than $1 billion compared to 2022. Exports of goods during this period amounted to more than $2.4 billion, which is more by 14.3%, or $306.8 million compared to 2022.
In 2023, as a result of the adoption of tax and customs benefits in various areas, production enterprises with modern technologies were created, production volumes of consumer goods were increased, the needs of the domestic market were satisfied, and the export structure was expanded.
Particularly, the export rate of a number of relatively new goods and products (copper, antimony, clothing, socks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, construction paints, packaging bags, paper and cardboard products) increased by $80 million compared to 2022 and amounted to $350 million dollars.
