DUSHANBE, 17.05.2024 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On May 16, Chairman of Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the City of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

During the meeting, Mr. Rustam Emomali highly appreciated the assistance and support of the Fund in the implementation of various programs to carry out economic reforms, maintain macroeconomic stability and improve the welfare of the people of the country, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

It was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan considers it necessary to strengthen and expand cooperation with the International Monetary Fund for further realization of economic reforms and sustainable development of the country.

Among the priority areas of further cooperation were named promotion of financial stability, strengthening of the banking system, support of projects aimed at formation of «green» economy, expansion of digitalization, solution of social and water-climatic problems.

During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
