Strategic cooperation between Tajikistan and China has reached a qualitative level

DUSHANBE, 29.05.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavki Zavkizod with the delegation of the Municipal Council of Chengdu city of the People’s Republic of China was held in Dushanbe.
It was noted that the foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan with China amounted to 1.5 billion dollars, increasing by 24.2 percent compared to 2022.
Within the framework of the meeting the issues of expanding cooperation in the spheres of economic development, trade, industry and education were discussed.
Zavki Zavkizoda noted that thanks to the wise policy and supreme political will of the leaders of both countries, the strategic cooperation of the countries has reached a qualitative level.
The guests were presented investment opportunities of the republic, priority directions and areas of attracting foreign investments, including in free economic zones of the country, informed about tax and administrative privileges for establishment of industrial enterprises.
The Minister of Economic Development and Trade called for investment in the production of solar panels, construction of metallurgical enterprises, a textile complex to establish a full cycle of processing cotton fiber into final products, pharmaceutical enterprises and implementation of other priority investment projects of the country.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
