DUSHANBE, 03.06.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On June 3, Chairman of Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the city of Dushanbe Rustami Emomali in Almaty of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part and spoke at the regular meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
At the meeting, which was held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, topical issues on the agenda of the Organization were discussed.
The Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the City of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali, during his speech, stressed that the joint activities of the member states within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization contribute to the effectiveness of interstate cooperation in ensuring the protection of sovereignty and national interests of the countries.
It was noted that in the period of strengthening modern threats and dangers, especially terrorism, extremism, radicalism, cybercrime and other transnational organized crimes, the priority of expanding and improving the effectiveness of political, military, military-technical and military-economic cooperation within the framework of the Organization increases.
He drew the attention of the Council members to possible threats on the southern border with Afghanistan, stressing that the difficult situation in this country could have long-term negative consequences for the region of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
During his speech, the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan also noted the importance of implementing joint measures to ensure the security of the information space of the organization and prevent the malicious use of information and communication technologies by terrorist and extremist organizations and groups.
Following the meeting, the relevant decisions were adopted.
