Industrial Production in Dushanbe Amounts to 2.4 Billion Somoni

DUSHANBE, 26.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – In the first 6 months of 2024, the volume of industrial production of 783 enterprises in Dushanbe amounted to 2.4 billion somoni, which is 500 million somoni more than in the same reporting period last year. In addition, the growth rate was 123.1%. It was announced today during a press conference by the First Deputy Chairman of Dushanbe Jamshed Tabarzoda.
It was reported that during this period exports of industrial products from Dushanbe amounted to $3 million, which is $992,000 more than the same period last year.
According to him, the effective use of new capacities, the launch of the production of competitive, import-substituting and export-oriented products have created a favorable basis for the growth of the city’s industry in the first half of 2024.
It was noted that 26.1 hectares of greenhouses operate to provide the population of the capital with fresh, high–quality products, of which 13.9 hectares are permanent, and the remaining 12.1 hectares are seasonal.
It was reported that the foreign trade turnover for the reporting period amounted to $584 million, which is 32.1% more than last year.
Along with this, it was emphasized that in June the inflation rate was 1.9%, exports – $6.7 million, and imports – $577.3 million.
