DUSHANBE, 30.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of the events on the occasion of inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the Leader of the Revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

During the meeting, a fruitful conversation took place on the strengthening and steady development of friendly ties and multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.

The President of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, congratulated the Leader of the Revolution of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the successful holding of the presidential elections in Iran and expressed confidence that the Tajik side, in cooperation with the new government of Iran, will further develop relations between the two countries.

Continuing the conversation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, recalled the historical and cultural commonality of the two countries, as well as the parties’ interest in expanding ties in the spirit of mutual understanding, partnership, mutual respect and trust, and emphasized “the firm determination of the Tajik side to continue this process.”

While expressing satisfaction with the steady development of political, economic, trade, scientific and cultural ties, especially in recent years, both parties expressed hope that this fruitful process will continue steadily in the future.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual interest.
