DUSHANBE, 01.09.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. On September 1, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, participated and spoke at the opening ceremony of a secondary comprehensive school named after Makhtumkuli Firaqi in Dusti district of Khatlon Province of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The opening ceremony of this educational institution took place in virtual format with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

It is worth mentioning that in May 2023, within the framework of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan, the heads of the two states initiated the construction of this school, which is intended for 1080 students in two shifts.

In his congratulatory speech, the Honorable Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon emphasized with satisfaction the full completion of construction works in this project of social importance in a relatively short period of time, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of friendly Turkmenistan for all-round support and assistance in its quality implementation.

«Thanks to this event, another good opportunity has been created for our young generation to study in a new school equipped with modern educational technology and equipment,»- said the Honorable President of Tajikistan.

In the continuation of his speech, Honorable Emomali Rahmon reflected on the current state and prospects of «deep strategic partnership relations» between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, and mentioned the process of deepening and expanding the traditional friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries, which have deep historical roots.

In this regard, the Head of State especially emphasized the important place of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including in the field of science and education, in the agenda of relations between the parties. In connection with this, the implementation of the secondary school construction project named after the well-known Turkmen poet and educationist Makhtumkuli Firaqi, whose 300th birthday is widely celebrated this year under the auspices of UNESCO, is a clear example of cooperation between our countries in the field of education and another symbol of friendly and constructive relations between two brotherly peoples.

At the end of his speech, the Leader of the Nation expressed the sincere gratitude of Tajikistan to the Government of Turkmenistan, the builders and all those who contributed to the implementation of this important social project.

Then, at the opening ceremony of the educational institution, the Honorable President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, made a meaningful speech.

The President of Turkmenistan warmly congratulated the President of Tajikistan and all the participants of this event on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and an important event – opening of a new school built by Turkmen builders on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people – Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of Turkmenistan, Honorable Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During his speech, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his gratitude to Honorable Emomali Rahmon for his constant attention to the promotion of effective cooperation, and expressed hope that holding such events as a symbol of friendship and brotherhood of our peoples will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
