President Emomali Rahmon inspected progress of construction of Rogun-Obigarm-Nurobod highway

DUSHANBE, 11.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of the working visit to Nurobod district, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, got acquainted with the progress of construction works on the highway Rogun-Obigarm-Nurobod.
The total distance of the road is 76 kilometers, and now 3,500 workers and specialists using 400 units of machines and equipment are working to complete the construction.
The construction of the road is implemented within the framework of the project «Regional Economic Cooperation of Central Asia» and is divided into 3 parts.
In the first stage of construction, the Obigarm-Tagikamar section will be implemented with the construction of 30 kilometers of road, 5 new bridges, the renovation of 1 existing bridge and the construction of 2 tunnels with a total length of more than 3 kilometers, which is nearing completion.
As part of the second phase, the construction of 47 kilometers of roads, 6 bridges, a temporary bridge, the Tagikamar tunnel with a length of 2.6 km and the renovation of 1 existing bridge is in progress and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Also, within the framework of this project, the construction of a bridge with a length of 920 meters over the reservoir of the «Rogun» hydropower plant is expected, which will be the longest in Tajikistan.
