DUSHANBE, 10.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 10, in the city of Konibodom, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, put into operation a water line of the tributary of the Syrdaryo River to irrigate 2500 hectares of land in the villages of Somoniyon, Kuchkak, Faizbor, Bekobod and Khamirjoi. This facility is one of the items of the plan designed to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the State Independence, and with its commissioning, the problem of the lack of clean water in this region has been completely eliminated.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon was informed that the «Istiklol» water pumping station consists of 2 water lines, and water is transported from Bahri Tojik (Tajik Sea) to agricultural lands from a distance of 9200 meters.

During the acquaintance with the project of the «Istiklol» water pumping station, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the construction  works. It was emphasized that the officials should revive the work in the direction of irrigation of cultivated lands and take into account the needs of farmers.

According to the Department of Agriculture of the city of Konibodom, more access to fresh water will allow to expand the area of arable land due to the abandoned lands and agricultural circulation.

Farmers and residents of the city of Konibodom expressed their gratitude to the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon for the care of the state and promised that they will work with a high sense of responsibility and make a suitable contribution to supply the domestic market with fresh products.

Here, the Head of State visited the exhibition of agricultural products of the city of Konibodom.

It was reported that the farmers of the city, taking into account all forms of farming, this year carried out spring sowing on the area of 14 thousand 82 hectares.

Farmers emphasized that they take every word of the Head of State as an example of their work and try to use every inch of land. This year, by growing a rich harvest, along with supplying the domestic market with fresh fruits and vegetables, they also exported products abroad.

The Leader of the Nation expressed his gratitude to the workers for their significant contribution in ensuring the country’s food security.

It is worth mentioning that the city of Konibodom is considered one of the important agrarian regions of the country, and the main occupation of the people is agriculture and animal husbandry.
