DUSHANBE, 18.10.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan hosted an international symposium “Contribution of Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi to the world science and civilization”, NIAT “Khovar” reports.
President of the National Academy of Sciences Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda noted that Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi was one of the great philosophers and scientists of the Middle Ages, a representative of the Eastern school of peripateticism (philosophical doctrine of the followers of Aristotle), his scientific views, theories and concepts are very multifaceted.
Despite this, domestic and foreign scholars conduct fundamental research to study the issues and obscure points of Al-Farabi’s teachings. On the one hand, they contribute to the development of various natural and humanitarian-social sciences, and on the other hand, they familiarize today’s generation with the advanced ideas of such thinkers as Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi.
The symposium was held in two sections: “The Age and Spiritual Environment of Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi” and “Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi’s Contribution to the Development of World Science and Culture. Abu-Nasr Al-Farabi and the Modern Era”.
Researchers from France, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan participated in the symposium in present and virtual mode.
