DUSHANBE, 11.10.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. On October 11, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part in the International Conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet and thinker Makhdum-Quli Firaghi under the title «Connection of times and civilizations — the basis of peace and development» in the city of Ashgabat.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, during his speech, reflected on the relations of friendship and brotherhood with the Turkmen people, the cooperation of intellectuals, and honoring the famous poet and educationist of Turkmenistan Makhdum-Quli Firaghi, whose 300th birthday is widely celebrated under the auspices of UNESCO.

Honorable Emomali Rahmon said that Tajikistan also paid respect to the anniversary of the great thinker.

President Emomali Rahmon in Tajikistan held an international round table dedicated to the life and creativity of Firaghi, placing a statue of Makhdum-Quli in Dushanbe city, naming one of the most beautiful streets of the country’s capital and a general secondary school in Dusti district of Khatlon Province as a clear sign of friendship and constructive relations between the brotherly people of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

It was emphasized that the poet’s creativity is inextricably linked with the great Tajik-Persian literary heritage. From Firaghi’s works, it can be seen that he was inspired by the literary legacy of world-famous Tajik and Persian thinkers, including Abul Qasim Firdawsi, Umar Khayyam, Saadi Shirazi, Jaloluddin Balkhi and Hafiz Shirazi. Many well-known Tajik writers and translators have translated and published dozens of his works in Tajik language.

Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon expressed his opinion about the content of Makhdum-Quli’s creativity, such as the ideas of humanity, friendship, brotherhood and friendship, and called his creative heritage an important currency for expanding cultural ties and bringing countries and people closer together.

Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon emphasized that cultural cooperation has a great potential as an effective factor of communication between nations and strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.

In this context, it was considered necessary for countries to set an example with a respectful and tolerant attitude towards each other’s traditions, values and spiritual and cultural heritage.

It was said that in this context, Tajikistan constantly supports joint practical actions to expand cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.

«We will continue to make necessary efforts for the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with all our partners, including with our brother Turkmenistan,» — said President Emomali Rahmon.

In his speech, our Head of State mentioned the high-quality level of the entire set of relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, which have acquired the character of «deep strategic partnership», and congratulated the top management of the friendly country for the magnificent and high-level organization of this conference.

At the International Conference, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, was awarded with the commemorative medal «300th anniversary of Makhdum-Quli Firaghi».
