DUSHANBE, 10.10.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. On October 10, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon received the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in the Palace of the Nation as part of his official visit to Tajikistan.
At the meeting, issues of relations between Tajikistan and Iran, including inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, were discussed.
Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon stated at the beginning that «we consider the friendly and brotherly country of Iran as our important partner in the region».
The role of the parliaments of the two countries in the development and expansion of relations between Tajikistan and Iran in various spheres was specially emphasized. In this context, the parties requested to continue the constructive parliamentary dialogue and further strengthen the activities of inter-parliamentary friendship groups.
It was pointed out that the expansion of cooperation in economic and commercial sectors, investment, industry, energy, transport and transit, agriculture and pharmaceuticals serves the interests of both countries.
Enhancement of cultural cooperation and protection of common values was recognized as another task of parliaments.
The parties also assessed the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation as extremely important in maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.
