Tajikistan, India sign Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of industry

DUSHANBE, 30.10.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. As previously informed, on October 29, Dushanbe has hosted the Tajikistan’s First International Mining and Metallurgical Forum and Exhibition with the participation of ministers of industry of Central Asian nations, experts and entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Central Asian countries to discuss the development of the mining and metallurgical industry.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan and the Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On the sidelines of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was concluded between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd of the Republic of India.
The MoU aims to facilitate cooperation in the field of small and medium enterprises between both countries. The MoU was signed by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Sherali Kabir, and the Chairman and Managing Director of NSIC, Mr. Subhransu Sekhar Acharya. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The signing of the MoU was preceded by a bilateral meeting of the Indian delegation with the Minister and senior officials of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Ambassador of India to Tajikistan, Rajesh Uike, was also present at the meeting.
During the discussions, both sides identified key areas of cooperation and agreed to work together to promote bilateral trade and investment.
They emphasized encouraging business collaborations with relevant technology inputs, green energy projects, training, and skill development under the framework of the MoU to realize the potential of the fast-growing economies of Tajikistan and India.
