On December 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Honorable Narendra Modi, which reads:

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of the prominent politician and statesman, former Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Manmohan Singh.
The deceased, with his faithful service and fruitful activities in high-ranking and important state positions, had earned honor, respect, and high reputation and prestige both within and outside the country.
