Committee for Environmental Protection discussed the draft Environmental Code of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 20.01.2025 /NIAT «Khovar»/. During a meeting of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the draft Environmental Code of the Republic of Tajikistan was discussed.
It was emphasized that the main goal of developing the draft Environmental Code is to improve the legal framework for state regulation of environmental protection and ensure environmental safety based on a balance of environmental and economic interests of society and, on this basis, ensure the implementation of the constitutional right of citizens to a healthy environment.
The main objectives of the development of the Environmental Code are to bring national legislation in line with international environmental standards, a comparative analysis of the experience of world legislation and the current legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan, a systematic approach to regulating the approach in the field of environmental protection in accordance with the current period of socio-economic development, an analysis of the current environmental legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and combining it into a single set — the Environmental Code.
The draft environmental code consists of parts, sections and specific articles and was developed within the framework of the creation of a competent commission and the involvement of qualified specialists and experts in compliance with legislative techniques in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan «On Regulatory Legal Acts».
The draft includes proposals and recommendations made by participants during the discussion of the Environmental Code.
