Tajikistan’s electricity production increases — Minister of Energy

DUSHANBE, 30.01.2025 /NIAT «Khovar»/. In 2024, Tajikistan’s total electricity production hit 22.4 billion kWh, marking a 3 percent increase, or 567.2 million kWh, compared to 2023, announced the country’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources (MoEWR) Daler Juma, during a press conference.
«The country’s independent power producers, including Barqi Tojik produces over 17.4 billion kWh, Sangtuda-1 over 2.6 billion kWh, Sangtuda-2 — 869.5 million kWh, Pamir Energy — 214.1 million kWh, and Rogun HPP over 1.2 billion kWh of electricity of electricity» — he said.
At the same time, in 2024, the republic produced more than 1.3 million Gcal of thermal energy, which is 359.2 thousand Gcal more compared to 2023. Given the population growth and the commissioning of new industrial capacity, the demand for electricity in the republic is increasing year by year.
