DUSHANBE, 20.02.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – Electronic Gates will be installed at international airports of Tajikistan, reports the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This measure is being implemented with the support of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon and on the initiative of the Civil Aviation Agency.

It should be noted that in December 2024, the Governmental Resolution “On the procedure for using the technical equipment “Electronic Gates” at international airports of the Republic of Tajikistan” was signed. As part of the implementation of this resolution, Electronic Gates will be installed in the terminals of international airports of the country.

Tajik citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons have the right to go through border control using this equipment.

The use of the Electronic Gate is carried out as follows: inserting the main page of the travel document into the passport reader and following the instructions for the next step that appear on the screen of the Electronic Gate, entering the Electronic Gate and completing the photo, which is activated automatically, after completing the procedure, exiting the Electronic Gate. When using the Electronic Gate, passengers must follow the signs indicated around, inside and on the screen of the technical equipment. It is stated that one passenger can use one Electronic Gate at a time.

The main purpose of introducing the Electronic Gate in the terminals of international airports of Tajikistan is to simplify border control in the arrival and departure halls of the terminals of international airports of Tajikistan, reduce the time of pre-flight and post-flight registration of passengers when crossing the state border, develop the tourism sector in the country, prevent modern threats to border security, improve the level and quality of airport service and ensure that the conditions of passenger service comply with international experience.

Currently, the installation of the Electronic Gates has been completed at Dushanbe International Airport. This measure will be implemented at other international airports in the country soon.
