Khorog to Host International Forum Pamir Invest 2019
DUSHANBE, 07.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The international investment forum Pamir Invest 2019 will be held later this year in August in Khorog, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
Organized by the Tajik State Committee for Investments and State Property Management, the Committee for Tourism Development, the Office of the Chairman of GBAO, the Association of Entrepreneurs and Mountain Farmers Milal Inter in collaboration with Aga Khan Foundation organizations, the forum aims to attract domestic and foreign investments in the development of business, tourism, infrastructure, to establish trade and economic relations with neighboring regions, to accelerate the implementation of GBAO’s socio-economic development programs, and to utlilize the existing opportunities and natural resources of the region.
GBAO is rich in mineral deposits and thermal sources. Its unique landscape contributes to the development of various types of local and international tourism. The bridges built on the Panj River allow the establishment of trade and economic ties and to develop tourist routes to the border areas with Afghanistan. The Kulma-Karasu international checkpoint is working between Tajikistan and China. It provides favorable conditions for the transfer of tourists from the territory of China and Pakistan to Tajikistan.
The existing conditions, combined with the accelerated construction of modern highways in GBAO and the improvement of the investment climate in the country as a whole open up new opportunities for further utilization of natural resources, in particular, the use of mineral resources, and tourism and transit route development.
The forum seeks to facilitate cooperation between domestic and foreign companies, increase the level of entrepreneurs’ readiness for dialogue and cooperation with investors, and to create new opportunities for greater involvement of young people and women in entrepreneurial activities.
Domestic and foreign investors, representatives of ministries and state departments and international organizations are expected to attend the forum.
Entrepreneurs will be able to present their developed business projects within the form.
