Tajik PM Rasulzoda participates in third Caspian Economic Forum in Tehran

DUSHANBE, 18.02.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On February 18, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda participated and spoke at the 3rd Caspian Economic Forum held in Tehran.
It was emphasized that the Caspian Economic Forum has created a favorable basis for the development of regional and international cooperation in various spheres of economy and trade, including energy, transport and environmental protection.
Rasulzoda said that the Caspian Sea region, as one of the strategic centers, provides comprehensive assistance to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the countries of the region.
According to Rasulzoda, only in 2024 the volume of trade turnover between Tajikistan and the countries of the region increased by almost 20 percent, and the total volume of trade turnover in the republic is more than 40 percent.
It was emphasized that Tajikistan is ready to export “green” energy to the Caspian Basin countries with 98% of electricity generated from renewable sources.
With emphasis on the industrial sphere, confidence was expressed that the desired result will be achieved through the implementation of joint projects in machine building, chemical industry, metallurgy and agriculture.
The Tajik side is ready to create favorable conditions of cooperation and investment for investors of the Caspian basin countries.
Further, Prime Minister of the country drew the attention of those present to environmental protection and the global initiative of Tajikistan to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation.
He invited the participante of the Forum to the International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 to be held on May 29-30 this year in Dushanbe.
