Trilateral meeting of the Presidents of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

On March 31, a trilateral meeting of the Presidents of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held in the ancient city of Khujand.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, warmly welcomed the high-ranking guests, and afterwards a joint photo session of the Heads of State of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of our country, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, warmly greeted the Heads of neighboring states, once again congratulated them on the International Day of Navruz, and stated that “this celebration has served for thousands of years to strengthen the high goals of humanity and mutual respect, solidarity and harmony.”
President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that “our countries and peoples are bound together by strong ties of long-standing friendship, good-neighborliness and common development.”
“We in Tajikistan highly value relations with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which are based on good-neighborliness, equality, respect and consideration of mutual interests,” — the Leader of the Nation noted in his speech. The Head of State further called the comprehensive development of relations between the three countries “one of the priority directions of Tajikistan’s foreign policy.”
The President of our state, Emomali Rahmon, described the signing of the Treaty between the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on the point of confluence of the state borders of the three countries as a “very important event.”
Expressing satisfaction with the fruitful results of his recent state visit to Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon stated that the Tajik side is determined to make all efforts in the coming period to create the necessary basis for constructive multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Our Head of State expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations and the exchange of Ratifications on it, emphasizing that with the signing of this historical document, “a qualitatively new stage of development has begun in the relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.”
In addition, Honorable Emomali Rahmon noted that “we are highly optimistic about the future of the strategic partnership and alliance between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.”
Concluding his speech, our Head of State Honorable Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the results of today’s meeting of the leaders of the three neighboring countries “will contribute to the further strengthening of friendship, good-neighborly relations, mutual understanding, respect and trust, as well as constructive and effective cooperation between our countries and fraternal peoples.”
