DUSHANBE, 25.04.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Faiziddin Kahkhorzod met with Vice President for Operations of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) Junaid Kamal Ahmad in Washington (USA), reports Ministry of finance of Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan informed NIAT “Khovar” that the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency is one of the institutions of the World Bank Group, which was established to attract private investment in developing countries by providing credit and political guarantees and reducing investment risks.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to expanding cooperation with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, especially in the direction of the wide use of guarantees to support sustainable financing, reducing the risks of borrowing and attracting private capital.
The Minister of Finance paid special attention to the role of guarantees of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency as an important tool to attract investment, increase confidence in the borrower and reduce the cost of credit, emphasizing the readiness of the Tajik side to develop important public projects for guaranteed support.
In addition, the parties expressed readiness to cooperate in the field of renewable energy, including solar energy.
