Tajikistan, Qatar discuss environment, climate cooperation

On April 17, 2025, a meeting took place between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar, Nurmurod Mahmadali, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the State of Qatar, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting, the sides discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, climate change and its negative consequences, ways to mitigate the impact of natural disasters, as well as strengthening the professional capacity of specialists in this sector.
At the same time the participation of the Qatari delegation in the International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, which will be held in the Republic of Tajikistan from 29 to 31 May 2025, was also discussed.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and laid the groundwork for further strengthening of cooperation.
