DUSHANBE, 27.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 27, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, commissioned a motor bridge in the city of Khorugh, which connects the two banks of the Gund River in the areas of Sharifobod and Parinen.
Construction work on the structure began on June 1, 2023.
The length of the bridge is 200 meters and its width is 10 meters.
The modern bridge is reinforced with 7 stable pillars, protective walls and retaining walls.
The construction of the bridge was carried out within the framework of the fruitful cooperation of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan with the World Bank and the fourth phase of the “Program for Improving Regional Roads in Central Asia” in the city of Khorugh.
Iron railings have been installed along the motor bridge, and a pedestrian path with a width of 2.20 meters has been built on both sides.
The bridge has a load-bearing capacity of 80 tons, and stairs have been built on both sides for residents with a modern design and architecture.
