DUSHANBE, 27.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 27, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, virtually put into operation 3.7 km of road, 550 meters of avalanche protection corridor and a motorable bridge with a length of 82 meters in the village of Barsem, Suchon rural district, Shugnon district.
It was reported that the road section in the village of Barsem, Shugnon district, was built in accordance with the requirements of the time.
This road section is of international importance and is an important part of the strategic highway Dushanbe-Kulob-Darvoz-Khorug-Murgob-Kulma. It connects Tajikistan with the People’s Republic of China through the Kulma border crossing.
Using modern equipment and technologies, and with the support of the Government of the country and international partners, road reconstruction work, the construction of an avalanche corridor, and a vehicular bridge have been completed in difficult mountainous terrain, ensuring the safety of traffic and regional connectivity.
