The Presidents of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in a joint Economic and Investment Forum

DUSHANBE, 08.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 8, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan, the Economic and Investment Forum of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held.
The Heads of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon and Honorable Sadyr Japarov, participated in the Economic and Investment Forum of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and delivered speeches in the presence of businessmen and investors of the two countries.
The Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that recently there has been a trend of increasing the volume of trade turnover between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and other aspects of economic relations, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation, are also developing.
The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that the agreements reached during today’s negotiations will become a reliable basis for the further expansion of cooperation between the parties, which is based on the principles of good neighborliness and lasting friendship.
It was stated that the results of today’s Forum will also contribute to enriching bilateral relations with new practical content.
During the presentation of the wide investment and trade opportunities, Tajikistan’s interest in expanding cooperation in the trade, economic and investment sectors, as well as in activating ties between the business circles of the two countries, was stressed.
The expansion of interregional trade and economic ties between the two countries was considered very important.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, spoke about the great natural potential of Tajikistan and the favorable investment climate in the country, noting that our legislation provides for legal privileges and guarantees for the protection of entrepreneurship and investment.
It was noted that one of the important areas of cooperation in the investment sphere is the expansion of trade in accordance with global trends in the development of the «green» economy.
It was emphasized that Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan can develop beneficial cooperation in the field of hydropower. The vast reserves of «green energy» of the parties can serve the interests not only of the two countries, but also of the entire region.
It was proposed that entrepreneurs and stakeholders in various industries also establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
The Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of the forum participants to the prospects and expansion of cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics, agriculture, as well as the financial and banking sectors.
The great potential of the parties for jointly developing mountain, ecological and health tourism was highlighted.
In conclusion, the President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, considered it necessary to effectively use all existing capacities and potential to develop the economies of the countries and improve the well-being of the peoples of the two states.
