DUSHANBE, 31.12.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – During his annual Address to the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, President Emomali Rahmon stated that it is important to continue promoting Tajik nation’s tangible and intangible heritage on the international stage in a deliberate and effective manner to ensure its preservation.
In this regard, the Head of State instructed that, in recognition of the historical contribution of Borbadi Marwazi to the development of global culture, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture should take the necessary measures to prepare and submit a UNESCO nomination acknowledging his contribution to world music and culture.
“Borbad, who lived and composed during the sixth and seventh centuries AD, in the era of the Sassanid statehood, is widely recognized by prominent scholars and experts around the world as one of the earliest masters of musical theory and a professional composer of the Aryan cultural tradition,” President emphasized.
