At the beginning of his speech, the Head of State expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for organizing this important international forum and congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality.
During his speech, Emomali Rahmon recalled the global community’s facing the complex geopolitical competition and the weakening of international legal norms, and stated that the increase in threats and dangers in the modern world is leading to a slowdown in the pace of economic and social progress.
It was emphasized that “peace and confidence play the most important role in promoting international relations, reducing threats and dangers, and creating favorable conditions for cooperation and sustainable development in the global arena”.
In the opinion of His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, peace and trust allow the complex problems of today’s world to be resolved in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and shared responsibility.
In this regard, it was highlighted that the adverse consequences of environmental threats, such as climate change, rapid melting of glaciers, environmental pollution, and other problems, also require joint and coordinated measures by the international community.
Our Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, recalled the Dushanbe global processes on water and counterterrorism, emphasizing that Tajikistan is constantly making its due contribution to solving global problems.
His Excellency Emomali Rahmon stated that «Tajikistan consistently supports all initiatives to strengthen peace and security in the world.»
In this regard, Tajikistan’s proposal to the UN last year to declare the «Decade for Strengthening Peace in the World for Future Generations» was once again recalled.
In conclusion, our Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, called the “triumph of peace” “a pledge of ensuring justice, equality, respect for human rights and freedoms,” and stated that “the international community should have a prudent approach to this high value, relying on trust, dialogue, and cooperation.”
It was emphasized that Tajikistan is ready to continue to make its significant contribution to ensuring security, stability, and sustainable development using acceptable diplomatic traditions, broad constructive dialogue, and other peaceful means.
