An investment agreement was signed in Dushanbe between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Closed Joint Stock Company Tajik Metallurgical Combine on the construction and commissioning of an iron ore enrichment plant, Khovar reports.
The plant will be built with domestic investment and equipped with modern technology for the extraction and processing of iron ore and associated minerals, as well as the production and export of high-quality products.
The construction of the enterprise will be carried out in two stages: the first stage is planned to be commissioned by 2027, and the second by 2031. The design annual capacity of the enterprise is 2.5 million tonnes of ore extraction and processing, from which 1.1 million tonnes of concentrate will be obtained.
The enterprise will not only serve as an import substitute, but will also be largely focused on exporting its products.
The signing of the investment agreement is an important step towards attracting foreign and domestic direct investment and strengthening the country’s manufacturing and industrial capacity.
