Today, at the Palace of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, met with officials newly appointed to senior and leadership positions in the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security, the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy, and the Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Leader of the Nation began the meeting with a comprehensive analysis of the activities of the security forces and units of the Ministry of Defense and the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security. He emphasized that, in the current vulnerable and complex global environment, the primary responsibility of every leader is to ensure security and stability, maintain vigilance, and remain fully prepared to defend the country’s borders. He also stressed the importance of further strengthening combat readiness and equipping units with modern technology, including advanced information exchange and communications systems.

Key issues discussed included identifying and addressing the causes and factors that disrupt the normal functioning of military service, preventing offenses among military personnel, fostering patriotism among new recruits, improving knowledge of modern military equipment and foreign languages, enhancing physical training, and ensuring that units are fully supplied with the necessary material and technical resources.

In accordance with Article 69, Clause 8, of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, proposals were submitted to the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding: the termination of the powers of Judge Jamshedzoda Jamshed Nazarsho of the Constitutional Court due to his passing; the election of Kodirzoda Jurabek Sharif as a judge of the Constitutional Court; and the recall of Aminzoda Saidabonu Rustam upon reaching the statutory age limit for judicial office.

Personnel changes were also carried out within several structures of the Ministry of Defense and the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security. Experienced officers were appointed as military commissars in a number of cities and districts across the country, as well as to leadership positions within various detachments and other units of the Border Troops.

“The work of the relevant agencies to prevent illegal crossings of the state border and the smuggling of narcotics and other goods requires a high level of vigilance, professionalism, courage, and determination from every border guard. The activities of organized criminal groups must be thoroughly analyzed, and the complex and evolving methods used by smugglers must be promptly identified, prevented, and suppressed,” emphasized the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, the appointed officials were given specific instructions to carry out their duties conscientiously, with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility, in service of the state and the people of Tajikistan.

It was underscored that, in the execution of official duties, the interests of the state must always come first.
