Tajik Parliament Speaker Reaffirms Peaceful Policy at CSTO Meeting in Moscow

A regular meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held in Moscow on April 20, according to the Majlisi Namoyandagon.

Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, participated in the session.

Prior to the meeting, speakers of CSTO member states’ parliaments took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden near the Kremlin, honoring World War II heroes. Participants observed a moment of silence in remembrance of fallen soldiers.

During the meeting, Idizoda reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to peace and noted that President Emomali Rahmon has consistently emphasized the importance of resolving crises and conflicts through negotiations and political and diplomatic means.

He stressed the importance of effective implementation of CSTO documents and decisions, expressing confidence that planned activities for the year, including joint military exercises, would be successfully carried out.

Idizoda also highlighted the promotion of national initiatives within the organization, underscoring the role of interparliamentary cooperation and CSTO model laws and recommendations in strengthening the legal framework for countering modern challenges and threats.
