On June 23, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Rustami Emomali, inaugurated the Technical Center of the Football Federation of Tajikistan in Varzob District.

It was reported that the facility was built to create favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of football in the country and is intended for the training of football players, the preparation of coaches and referees, specialists in the field, the development of children’s, youth, women’s, and professional football, as well as the popularization of football and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

The land plot of the complex, with a total area of 62,000 square meters, provides a solid and suitable foundation for the construction of modern and multifunctional sports infrastructure.

It should be noted that the complex includes the main building and two training fields, one of which has natural grass and the other artificial grass.

The territory of the complex is divided into two main zones: a sports zone and an administrative and residential zone.

In the sports zone, there are football fields with natural and artificial turf, a stadium, a tennis court, and a gymnastics area designed for the development of various sports and professional training. In the administrative and residential zone, there is a main building, a sports arena, an indoor swimming pool, a jogging track, and a security checkpoint, providing orderly operation, high-quality services, and comfortable conditions for users of the complex.

In the basement of the main building, a fitness hall is equipped with modern sports equipment and necessary facilities for users. This level also includes utility rooms and storage areas.

On the first floor, the complex features a spacious and modern restaurant and café, providing all necessary conditions for the reception of guests, comfortable rest, and high-quality service.

The restaurant and café also include spacious verandas for relaxation, which are attractive to athletes, guests, and visitors.

This floor also provides hotel services, a spacious reception and registration hall for guests, staff offices, necessary sanitary and hygienic facilities, and modern elevators.

The Technical Center of the Football Federation of Tajikistan has modern single, double, and suite rooms for guests’ accommodation and recreation, including rooms with spacious verandas equipped with necessary amenities. In addition, modern conference and meeting halls have been built for holding meetings, events, and official receptions.

The Technical Center was constructed with the technical and financial support of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and domestic partners. It has created 50 permanent jobs.

The establishment of such a complex was initiated to promote sports, especially football, in the country and is in line with the noble and constructive initiatives of the country’s top leadership.

It is worth noting that in 1994, the Football Federation of Tajikistan was admitted to FIFA and the AFC as a representative of the independent state of Tajikistan.

From 2012 to 2022, with the continuous support of the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Rustam Emomali, Tajik football entered a new stage of development, achieving significant progress through the development and implementation of sectoral strategies and programs.

During this period, the construction of international-standard fields and stadiums, the establishment of new leagues, the training of specialists, and the development of women’s football were expanded.

Training courses were conducted with the involvement of experts from FIFA and the AFC, and the country’s football clubs achieved significant results in the rankings of these organizations.

In order to implement the sports-oriented initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the TV channels “Varzish” and “Football” were established, and on the initiative of His Excellency Rustam Emomali, the official website of the Football Federation of Tajikistan was launched.

These initiatives contributed to strengthening cooperation with the media and ensuring broader coverage of the achievements of Tajik football.

With the support of the leadership of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, the children’s and youth football system has entered a new stage of development, and children’s and youth leagues, schools, and football academies have been established.

As a result of these initiatives, notable achievements include the U-19 national team reaching the quarterfinals of the Asian Championship in 2016 and 2018, the U-17 national team winning a silver medal in 2018 and qualifying for the 2019 World Cup, as well as the national team winning the main trophy at the King’s Cup 2022 in Thailand after defeating Trinidad and Tobago and Malaysia.

It is also worth noting that, at the proposal of the President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, His Excellency Rustam Emomali, and in accordance with the United Nations General Assembly resolution of May 7, 2024, May 25 was declared World Football Day.

This initiative further enhanced the prestige of Tajikistan as a country promoting the values of peace, friendship, and solidarity through football on the international stage.
