Tajikistan Seeks Deeper Partnership With Saudi Fund for Development

Tajik officials met with representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development and the Islamic Development Bank Institute on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank’s annual meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, to discuss economic cooperation and development initiatives, according to Tajik Finance Ministry.
The meeting brought together Economic Development and Trade Minister Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, First Deputy Finance Minister Yusuf Majidi and Saudi Fund for Development Chairman Sultan Abdurrahman Al-Marshad.
The parties discussed the implementation of ongoing projects in key sectors of the economy, including transport and energy, and reviewed opportunities for financing feasibility studies and other initiatives.
Abdurahmonzoda and Majidi also held talks with Sami Ibrahim Al-Suwailem, acting director general of the Islamic Development Bank Institute.
The discussions focused on advancing strategic cooperation through scientific and technical assistance and support for human capital development.
The participants expressed readiness to develop a practical roadmap and launch technical assistance projects in the near future.
