On August 28, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, inaugurated a new building of Secondary Educational Institution No. 20 in the Shohmansur district of the capital by lifting the curtain on the symbolic plaque.

The new building of Secondary Educational Institution No. 20 was built in honor of the sacred national holiday — the 35th anniversary of State Independence with the support of the Executive Body of State Power of the city of Dushanbe in compliance with the requirements of international standards and modern architectural designs and elements.

Construction work on this educational institution has been ongoing for a year, and it has now been prepared for the 2026-2027 academic years.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that this center of knowledge and enlightenment, which was built on the basis of the previous secondary educational institution No. 20, is designed to accommodate 2,400 students in two shifts, taking into account the increase in the population.

This educational institution is provided with extensive educational and training conditions and opportunities and modern technology, and has 58 spacious educational and technical classrooms, 16 teacher work rooms, a library with 90 seats, an electronic library with 24 seats, an assembly hall with 350 seats, a sports hall with 70 seats, a table tennis hall, a summer sports field, a canteen with 210 seats, a medical center, and technical and auxiliary rooms.

The institution’s library contains 14,200 books, of which 4,500 are works of art by classical and modern writers.

With the commissioning of the new building of Secondary Educational Institution No. 20 in Shohmansur district of Dushanbe city, the number of teachers at the institution has reached 90 people.

In order to provide students with training in various professions, the institution operates vocational training classrooms, which are equipped with modern conditions. This measure allows teenagers to master various crafts and professions in addition to studying science and knowledge.

The introduction of innovative methods is being strengthened in this institution.

The foundation of new educational institutions was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the “National Strategy for Education Development for the period up to 2030”.

During the conversation, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, considered improving the quality of education and educating children and adolescents in a spirit of self-awareness and patriotism to be the professional mission of teachers, emphasizing that by building new educational institutions and expanding good conditions for education and upbringing, first of all, the education system should be adapted to world standards and serious attention should be paid to the study of modern knowledge, exact sciences, foreign languages, and new technologies.

Over the 35 years of the country’s independence, 20 new educational institutions with 19,564 seats have been put into operation in the Shohmansur district of Dushanbe.
