On August 29, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, sent a telegram of condolences to His Majesty King Haakon VIII of Norway, which read:
“Your Majesty,
The news of the passing of your esteemed father, King Harald V of Norway, has caused us immense sorrow.
Over the years of his career, the deceased gained well-deserved fame as a prominent statesman and earned special respect and honor in the international arena.
In connection with this heavy loss, I express my sincere condolences and sympathy to you, your family and relatives, and the friendly people of Norway.”
