President Emomali Rahmon Holds Talks With US Special Envoy and Senator in Bishkek

Today, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in Bishkek with the US President’s Special Envoy for Central and South Asia, Sergio Gore, and the US Senator from the Republican Party, member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Steve Daines.
The meeting discussed topical issues of cooperation between the two countries.
The President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, stated that «Tajikistan highly appreciates the role of the «C5+1″ mechanism as an important platform for regional dialogue and cooperation.»
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of developing trade and economic cooperation, including creating a favorable climate for attracting investment in the energy, industry, and rare and important minerals sectors.
Issues of security and stability in the region and the world, as well as political and diplomatic solutions to conflicts, were also in the spotlight.
There was also an exchange of views on other topics of interest.
