President Emomali Rahmon Meets President Pezeshkian on SCO Summit Sidelines

On August 31, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian, in Bishkek on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states.
The meeting discussed a range of issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as relations within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that the relations between the peoples of the two countries have ancient historical, civilizational, and cultural roots.
Great attention was paid to the issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, including in the energy, transport, agriculture, and tourism sectors.
The development of cultural, scientific and educational cooperation was one of the important topics of the conversation.
The situation in the Middle East and around Iran was in the center of attention of both sides, with a focus on political solutions to regional conflicts.
An exchange of views also took place on other topics of interest.
