Tajikistan Adopts 2027-2031 Domestic Tourism Development Program

To develop the tourism sector and further increase visitor numbers, Tajikistan has adopted the 2027-2031 Domestic Tourism Development Program. The draft government resolution was considered during a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on Aug. 25.
The program was designed to define the goals, priorities and directions for the sustainable development of domestic tourism. The document aims to help create a higher-quality tourism environment, encourage further growth in domestic tourism, improve living standards and quality of life, preserve the country’s ancient history, showcase Tajikistan’s scenic landscapes, and promote its national culture and other attractions.
President Emomali Rahmon said Tajikistan has significant opportunities and resources to further increase the number of tourists and stressed that they should be used effectively.
Officials reported that 2.4 million foreign tourists visited Tajikistan in 2025.
