Tajikistan Launches Interdepartmental Working Group on e-Phyto System Implementation

On Aug. 6, the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on implementing the e-Phyto system in Tajikistan was held at the Food Safety Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, bringing together representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, development partners and international organizations, Khovar reported, citing the committee.
First Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Committee Mahmud Shirinjonzoda said implementing the e-Phyto system is an important step toward digitalizing state phytosanitary services. The system will help simplify trade procedures, increase transparency, reduce the use of paper documents, accelerate the international exchange of phytosanitary certificates and align Tajikistan’s national phytosanitary system with international standards.
Participants discussed the stages of implementing the e-Phyto system in Tajikistan, strengthening coordination among relevant authorities, developing the necessary legal and technical framework, and cooperation with international partners. They also exchanged views on further steps to advance the system’s implementation.
