President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said that over the 35 years of state independence, the Government has implemented comprehensive measures to revive historical memory, strengthen national self-awareness, and honor the enduring values of Tajik and Persian-speaking civilization.

Speaking at the scientific conference of the World Association of Tajiks and Persian-Speaking Peoples “Payvand,” the Head of State said Tajikistan had restored and elevated its cultural traditions as part of a broader nation-building process.

“We have revived and elevated Navruz as a great historical, national, and international celebration with renewed grandeur,” President Rahmon said. “We have restored the ancient traditions of Sada, Mehrgon, and Tirgon to the spiritual life of society, brought traditional customs and rituals back into cultural life, and created favorable conditions for connecting generations with the roots of our civilization.”

The Leader of the Nation noted that during the years of independence, celebrating major national and cultural festivals and honoring internationally recognized figures of Tajik and Persian science and literature had become a key direction of the country’s cultural policy.

“We have demonstrated that the Tajik nation, as an active and inseparable pillar of the modern world, has contributed a valuable treasury of knowledge and enlightenment to the spiritual heritage of humanity and will continue to fulfill this humanitarian mission,” President Emomali Rahmon said.

The Head of State emphasized that reviving the nation’s history and rediscovering its spiritual heritage had become among the most significant achievements of the independence era and served as essential pillars of national identity.

President Emomali Rahmon also noted that during the years of independence, numerous historical and literary works had been published in large editions and made accessible to the public.

“We have placed this great treasure at the service of society as a reliable source for educating future generations, strengthening national unity, and reinforcing the spiritual bonds of Tajiks and Persian-speaking peoples around the world,” the Leader of the Nation said.
