On October 28, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, which reads as follows:

I sincerely congratulate you on your re-election to the highest office of President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Your victory in the election is yet another clear testament to the support of your country’s citizens for your policies aimed at Brazil’s socio-economic development and at strengthening and enhancing its position on the international stage.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to reaffirm Tajikistan’s commitment to expanding friendly relations and continuing constructive interstate dialogue with friendly Brazil.

We view the prospects for cooperation between our countries positively and stand ready to take joint practical measures to advance cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
