Tajikistan outlined its investment priorities at a regional forum of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for Central Asian and Caucasus countries, according to the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan.

Farrukh Yusufzoda, first deputy chairman of the committee, presented the country’s development priorities under its National Development Strategy through 2030 and Investment Attraction Strategy through 2040.

He highlighted efforts to strengthen energy security, improve transport connectivity, increase climate resilience, manage water resources and attract private investment.

Yusufzoda said Tajikistan aims to overcome its geographic constraints and become a regional hub, strengthening economic and trade ties and promoting integration among countries in the region.

The forum also reviewed cooperation between Tajikistan and the AIIB. Tajikistan, a founding member of the bank, has secured approval for more than $430 million in financing for four state investment projects in the energy and transport sectors.

A multiyear investment program for 2026-2029, valued at about $800 million, was scheduled to be signed in May 2026, according to the report.

Yusufzoda reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to continued cooperation with the bank to support regional connectivity, environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
