Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia reached $2.47 billion in 2025, up 24.8% from 2024, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan told Khovar.
The growth continued in 2026. From January through August, trade turnover between the two countries reached $1.68 billion, up 16.4% from the same period in 2025.
Russia remains Tajikistan’s largest trading partner by geographic share of foreign trade, with trade between the two countries showing a gradual upward trend, according to the ministry.
The latest meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia was held Oct. 1 in Dushanbe. It was co-chaired by Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
The meeting focused on implementing directives and instructions from the two countries’ presidents and on making fuller use of existing opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations.
