Armed firefight with Afghan drug smugglers occurred on Tajik-Afghan border
Dushanbe, 22.08.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Border guards of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan and staff of Department of Interior Ministry on Khatlon region in joint operation have prevented an attempt of illegal crossing the line of the state border by Afghan drug smugglers.
An unknown Afghan armed group of smugglers entered into armed conflict with Tajik border guards, the SCNS RT press centre said in a statement, as a result one of the smugglers was wounded.
According to a source, at the scene were found and seized more than 10 kg. of raw opium.
On this fact criminal case has been filed, investigation is underway.
