DUSHANBE, 23.01.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/.  Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King of Saudi Arabia, during his meeting with Shukurjon Zuhurov, the Chairman of Majlisi namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the country called Tajikistan an important partner of Saudi Arabia in the region.

In this regard, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques gave instructions to Royal Cabinet, chairman of Majlis Shura and heads of relevant ministries and departments to undertake necessary measures for the acceleration of critical issues, as well as for the development and expansion of comprehensive relations with Tajikistan, especially in the fields of trade, economy, investment, attraction of business circles, and expanding cultural cooperation.

Shukurjon Zuhurov, in turn, noted that the relations of the Republic of Tajikistan with Saudi Arabia are dynamically developing. “We once again express our readiness to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation with Saudi Arabia in various fields”, — Sh. Zuhurov said.

It was noted that regarding the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are scheduled the holding of the second session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Al-Riyadh city, the Cultural Days of the Republic Tajikistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Forum of entrepreneurs, investors and businessmen of both countries that will give a serious impetus to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.

Speaker of Parliament expressing his view on the humanitarian aid of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tajikistan, creation of favorable conditions for Tajik pilgrims and support of the Republic of Tajikistan by region’s political and financial organizations, such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Islamic Development Bank, in which Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays an important role and the Saudi Fund for Development and King Salmon Center on humanitarian aid, expressed gratitude.

Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, assessing the visit of the Tajik Parliamentarians to Saudi Arabia as a good omen, emphasized that this visit will create a favorable condition to the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. At the end of the meeting King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wished to the Tajik nation sustainable stability, as well as to Tajikistan — prosperity and progress.
